In December 2003, ADEK International decided to adopt a new legal status for the Association and become an International Non-Profit Organisation (Association internationale sans but lucratif) to facilitate the development and growth of the Association.

This change comes 38 years after the foundation of the Association, and its existence during that time as an ‘Association de fait’, and represents a monumental change in the organisation’s history.
